Born in 1994 in Tehran, Maryam Behrouzinia finished her studies in architecture in 2018 and established her own studio in 2019. She set out an exploration of media such as photography, drawing and sculpture during a period of four years and then started conceptual experiments in her personal studio, urban spaces and natural environment. Natural forms found their way into her abstract sculptures through her involvement with macro photography of natural details and being attentive to nature’s specific features. Natural material such as wool, paper, charcoal and graphite constituted the major part of her working material since her early experiences in sculpture. Creating works in nature with the available material dependent on the spatial structure has gradually become part of the process of her artistic expression.
